In WW2 the Allies won (in part) by the bombing of civilian cities. Is this legal and / or morally acceptable?
In Bosnia, civilians were killed in the bombing of NATO (as the press applauded.) How many civilians have been killed (accidentally) by the U.S. Iraq? It is impossible to war today without the risk of killing civilians. PS Why are these issues that arise when Israel is involved and ignored in other conflicts? – Does anyone even know that, according to the Iraqi Ministry of Health, more civilians have died in Iraq by U.S. forces then fighters! (In my research, Israel has one of the lowest rates by fighting in the Civil War history, and while fighting guerrilla warfare style!)
The moral side of this question is debatable! Is it ethical? NO, but necessary. In situations where non-uniformed combatants or outdoors. The use of urban areas for loose attacks.The deliberately hide in civilian hospitals, orphanages, civilians. Repair absolutely unavoidable collateral damage. The enemy (hamass and others) plan to target areas civialian frequency. The PLO, Hamas, Arab states that the funds of terrorists seem to have better press agents. It's amazing how each report is seen as Israel is the ferocious monster!. In World War 2 the Axis forces to put more plants in populated areas of defense in the hope that our moral compass will not allow us to bomb civilians?
