Orange is a colour that is associated with vibrancy, heat, fire and energy. A healing colour, it can be used in designing web sites to signify openness.
Purple isn’t a really popular colour in designing web sites, as its seen as pretty girly and can give the impression of arrogance, finances, luxury and indulgence.
Orange is linked to fire, enthusiasm, heat & hazard. But it’s also a really friendly & young colour that’s used frequently in web sites aimed at youth culture.
Tradition, stability, depth & constitution are all linked to the colour brown. But it’s really similar to green in that it’s also linked with trees, mother earth & calm.
In conclusion, when selecting colours for designing for the world wide web, thought should be given to the way it can potentially affect users. The selection of colour may look laudable or meet your brief, although will it put your users off? by making some simple changes, like changing the purchase button to a vibrant colour may generate more sales. Serious consideration and thought could mean the difference between failure and success.
