2001 Saab How reprogramming key after changing the battery to lock / unlock / trunk?
I just bought a used Saab 2001. It came with two keys. One of the main requirements of a new battery. Bought and replaced batteries in both keys Renata batteries 1632 – 3V lithium, because could find what the manual recommends, Panasonic 1632 – 3V lithium. The manual says that to support the release button 4 times in a row after changing the battery to get the unlock / lock / trunk button features to work again. I tried and does not work. I called the local Saab dealer and he told me to get and needed an appointment. It sounded expensive for me. Please advice or help. Thanks in advance for all who respond.
Have you installed the batteries correctly? The two keys at the same time will not replace the battery. After installing the batteries, simply press the unlock key and should be 3-4 times function normally. These remote controls are wide poor, less than 15 feet from the car. There should be no reason to go to the dealer after replacing batteries in the key, unless it broke the issuer of the keys.
